With the hype of Labour Day in full swing Rob and I decided to hop on the band wagon (subway line) to Coney Island to soak up some sun on our last day and dip our toes in US waters.
From Harlem we got on the D line at 125th street Downtown and direct to Coney Island Stillwell Avenue. It ended up taking just under 2 hours but there was lots to look at out the window on the way.
It was pretty much how I imagined, Blackpool by the sea but a lot hotter and sunnier. There was a lovely white sandy beach and loads of rides for the kids (and big kids) as well as Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs which we really wanted to try but the queue was just crazy.
I'm so glad we got to experience the American seaside.
