Friday night in Hout Bay means Bay Harbour Market for food. Similar to Cape Point Vineyards (Hout Bay has more food options and non food related market stalls too but it's inside so you don't get the view) gather all your friends for sociable drinks, a huge variety of food and some live music thrown in too. Like CPV you need to get their early if you want to secure yourself a seat, any later than around half 5 and you'll be standing.
I can highly recommend Mexican followed by a Nutella crepe!
