After
a quick breakfast we took the short journey to Yosemite Village and after an
easy park, we bought photograph prints and postcards.
Next was the gentle walk up to the lower falls and a paddle in amongst the local squirrels.
One little downside to going in the height of summer was the lack of water in the falls.

Back at the village was a delicious $10 charity bbq lunch.
On
our way out we made the brilliant decision to stop at Sentinal beach for a
swim. Although freezing, it is hands down the most insane place I have every
had the privilege to swim in. Another little tip - it is well worth the short
walk to the quieter beach further down.
After
drying off we hit the road for the 36 mile drive to Wawona stopping at Tunnel View for the most spectacular view of the Valley.
I
also bought my first and rightly hyped Snapple, yum.
We
hopped on the shuttle bus to Mariposa Grove and strolled through the forest to
explore the Giant Redwood Sequioa trees.
Heading
home exhausted, we returned to the pizza restaurant and were joined by the same
raccoon!
