Well, it looks like the summer is definitely over in England so I thought it was time for
a little throwback/reminisce all the way to June when the girls and I decided we
wanted some sun and a lot of fun at Hideout Festival, Croatia. It was such an incredible week and a half with the perfect
mix of laying on the beach, exploring the Island of Pag and partying at the
festival.
Croatia itself is absolutely beautiful with smooth pebbly
beaches, crystal clear waters and dramatic rocky mountains. We stayed in an
Airbnb apartment in the town of Novalja around a 10 minute walk downhill into
the centre where the shops, bars and restaurants where situated by the water.
The food was reasonably cheap with quite a lot of steak, fresh seafood and pasta.
You could also buy fruit from market stalls really cheaply but it was so
delicious. My favourite places on the way to the beach in the
morning were a little pavement take away spot at around Plasica Ulica for the iced coffee or a slush puppy and the pastry shop on the corner on Obala Petra Krešimira IV 7 for their chocolate croissants!
We hired a Pedalo one afternoon to explore the bay and go snorkelling and took an excursion north to
go white water rafting. Not quite the Zambezi but still so much fun.
I would love to go
back to Croatia and visiting some of the cities too, not just the beach. There
seems to be a really rich history and some beautiful buildings.
