Just before Christmas last year myself, Rob, mom, Sarah and Joe took a six week trip to Southern Africa...

You may already know that my family are from South Africa so when my sister opted to do her final elective and my mom was doing some volunteering work at a school both in Zambia it seemed to make at lot of sense to fly out and meet them, then head down to Cape Town to visit all our family and friends!

I have soo many pictures to show you so I have separated the posts mostly into single days with a few quieter days joined together. To keep it swift I thought I would do a photo diary style post with a little summary of what we got up to at the bottom. These posts will go up every (fingers crossed) morning at 8am and my normal posts should still go up Monday, Thursday and Sunday at 6.30 pm if all goes to plan...

It all started with my 34 hour journey on 3 flights from home to Victoria Falls! We stayed at the wonderful A'Zambezi River Lodge which is a little out of the town but right on the rivers edge. The rooms were modern but in keeping with traditional character such as thatched roofs. Supper was an all you can eat buffet of local meats; kudu, crocodile and ostrich among others followed by the freshest fruit, G&T's and local dancers.

And if the start of our African adventure wasn't amazing enough, we were joined by a herd of Buffalo just after our supper (and then next night 3 elephants)!
